My college campus is going to be flooded with McCain supporters and newshounds tomorrow morning. McCain's coming to hold a rally (presumably the last before the election), though why he chose Chrisopher Newport University to do it at is beyond me. Maybe it was cheaper. I suspect it has something to do with our University President being a former Republican senator. Anywho, I'm going to go and listen and take pictures. I don't support the man for President, but huddling in my dorm in protest would be stupid. I'll play reporter instead. :D

But they're not making me wear one of his stickers/red, dammit.

His people and our people have been scrambling to set up for it all day, and I found it amusing so I took some shots. ENJOY.

Patriotism-inna-box!

This was mildly hilarious-- we're building a new science building, so we've got cranes and the like, which they were using to hold up this ginormous flag. They've since taken it down, so I don't know if they're going to use the construction machinery hanging method tomorrow or not.

Picture this area filled with annoying people.

"Filling up a square of the campus with porta-potties" just isn't one of the things you think of when you imagine hosting a political rally. It's the details that get ya!

The affair should prove interesting, at the very least. Or not. I'll report back.

OH, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYBODY~ ♥

Wow. That looks time consuming.

But when you do have a free moment you should give me a call. You know, as long as it isn't too much effort.

Yeah, they were at it all day.

Sure! I'll give you a call this evening.

Ugh. Porta-Potties... ~__~()

I wonder how many people will be walking around campus with Obama buttons.

D: Srsly

Haha, I got a sticker from two who stood near the merchandisers with signs.

Oh, that's pretty cool. I always wanted to see what one of the rallies were like. Though if I went to a McCain one I would have to be one of the obnoxious people wearing an Obama shirt.

It was pretty boring, but that's probably because I didn't agree with the rhetoric. Plus there were like, five speakers before McCain even showed.

One of them was Phil the Bricklayer. No joke. DX

Boy am I glad I wasn't coming to visit THIS weekend. xD

HANG IN THERE.

God, right?

I WILL.

You know I worked as a volunteer at a Bush rally once, right?

Against my will, really. My mom signed me up and was all "WE'RE DOING IT!" But I saw Bush in person.
2nd-Nov-2008 08:30 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I think you told me about that. XD I could never volunteer at a rally. Even for a candidate I support.
2nd-Nov-2008 09:32 pm (UTC)
I think I could but...

Do you have a roach icon?
2nd-Nov-2008 09:40 pm (UTC)
He's got a top hat! And a little cane! His name is Hubert J. Boxocrackers. :D

Oh my. How did that go for yah? It looks exciting, and I can only image the fear and exhuberance in the air as an entire campus is raided by Republicans XD

Oh, BTW: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! ♥
(I made a Stephen Colbert pumpkin. I will post pictures. You will laugh)

XD It... went. I'll post on it either tonight or tomorrow (*procrastinaaaaator*). I couldn't even stay to listen to all of McCain's speech. Just couldn't do it. But it was a neat experience.

Oh I am so looking forward to seeing that. 8D ♥
